Privacy Policy
In short: Ham Band Report does not collect, store or sell visitor data itself, other than an email you choose to send to [email protected]. There are no accounts, sign-up forms or comment boxes. The Site shows ads from Google AdSense, which uses cookies.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us: only what you choose to include if you email [email protected]. It is used only to reply. The Site has no forms or accounts.
Cookies and advertising: the Site itself does not set cookies or use analytics. Google AdSense, a third-party advertising service, places and reads cookies to serve ads, as described in section 3 and the Cookie Policy.
Server logs: like nearly all websites, the company that hosts the Site and its content-delivery network may automatically record basic technical information when your browser requests a page, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested, the referring page and the date and time. These logs are kept by those providers for security, troubleshooting and operating the service. We do not use them to identify visitors, build profiles or for advertising.
Calculators, clocks and your location: the time converter, grid-square locator, distance, antenna and Morse tools run entirely in your own browser. If you press "Use my location" on the grid-square tool, your browser asks your permission and the position is used only on your device to compute your grid square; it is never sent to us. Local times are likewise computed by your browser.
Satellite tracker: satellite positions, look angles and pass predictions on the Satellite Tracker are computed in your browser. If you enter a grid square or press "Use my location" there, that location is used only on your device and is saved only in your own browser's local storage (key hbr_obs) so the page remembers it next time. It is never sent to us or anyone else. Press "Clear" on that page, or clear this site's data in your browser, to remove it. Local storage is not a cookie and is not used for advertising or tracking.
2. Third-party content
Data shown on the Site, including GOES satellite images from NOAA/NESDIS, satellite orbital elements from CelesTrak and transmitter data from SatNOGS DB, is fetched by our own server from public sources and served from the Site itself, so your browser does not contact those sources. Two exceptions load directly from third parties: Google AdSense, which loads ads from Google's servers, and the optional N0NBH solar-conditions image on the Propagation page, which loads from hamqsl.com. When you click a link to a news publisher, government agency or other external website, that website's own privacy policy applies.
3. Advertising (Google AdSense)
The Site displays ads served by Google AdSense.
- Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies, including the DoubleClick cookie, to serve ads on the Site based on your prior visits to this website and other websites on the Internet.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this Site and/or other sites.

4. Children
The Site is a general-audience website and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
5. Your rights
Because the Site does not collect personal information, there is generally no personal data held by us to access, correct or delete. Depending on where you live (for example California or the European Union), you may have rights under privacy laws; any advertising data is held by Google, and you can exercise your choices through Google's consent message or the opt-out links in section 3.
6. Security
The Site is a static website with no database of visitor information. No method of transmission over the Internet is completely secure, but the Site stores no visitor data to be exposed.

This policy may be updated from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
